So, tell me, what will you all do to improve the (in my opinion) major aspect of this game?
Personal feeling is that this is where both the upcoming book and ambulation will come in.
t0nyG said quite emphatically that one of the primary reasons for the lack of developement in the back story in recent months has been down to waiting for the book to be finished. Hopefully, with the game now taking us inexorably towards the events of the book - which I cannot wait to read, am planning to pre-order, and hoping like hell I can get a signed copy - and with the Whitewolf genius on board to collaborate on carrying these concepts forward, hopefully that will increase the content side of things sufficiently to make the ongoing story in Eve to become interesting and dynamic.
Add ambulation, and for the first time being able to see your character as an individual in front of you rather than a 2d mugshot, along with the planned abilites to alter body habitus, plastic surgery, and clothing ranges/fashions, etc, this will hopefully lead you to being able to 'identify' with your character (not my concept, but paraphrasing the concept suggests raised at fanfest - as I remember it). Apparently this aspect of things accounts forthe lack of female players in Eve.
Put the two together, identity and content, and hopefully you will have an immersive experience that will start drawing people back into the game, and give the RP side of things a jump-start. Let;s just hope us existing player-base aren't too hide-bound and cynical to give it a chance, as we could just ruin it for the fresh-blood who will hopefully be enthralled by the whole experience.
I think this is going to be my one regret for having played for nearly 4 years, and that is I won't get to experience 'the whole package' from new when it all comes together.
Assuming of course that CCP don't concoct some new scheme to melt my PC or OS during the upgrade process in a transparent attempt to limit server load on patch day (will that ever get old .....)
Upshot ... hopefully nothing needs doing by the CSM ... CCP have it in hand!
